Here's the good news: Look at my beautiful apple tree in full bloom!
Here's the bad news: This means I'll be picking up rotting, bee swarmed crabapples well into late summer.
And here's a question for all of you: There must be something I can do with my bounty of crabapples besides letting them fall and rot. Ideas please?

If you can sucker/bribe/con/guilt someone into helping peel them, they actually make really great pie.
Thanks Sheryl, but are you sure they're not poisonous? If not, I'm assuming they cook like ordinary apples and I'll let you know how it goes.
Hey, maybe I'll make a crabapple tarte tatin. I can even luxe it up with the forthcoming bounty of red currants from my front garden, which cause a whole other set of problems. (I really do have the most uncooperative vegetation around.)
if they're poisonous....then try honing your skills as a crabapple doll maker....
remember those dolls with the dried up apple faces?????
